Job purpose
Ensure that various facilities, including residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, are thoroughly cleaned and maintained. The Cleaning Crew Member will be responsible for performing a range of cleaning tasks to ensure a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for all occupants.
Duties and responsibilities
General Cleaning Tasks
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
- Dust and polish furniture and fixtures.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
- Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
- Restock supplies in restrooms, break rooms, and other areas as needed.
Specialized Cleaning Tasks
- Perform deep cleaning tasks such as carpet cleaning, floor waxing, and window washing.
- Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, including door handles, light switches, and handrails.
- Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned by the Cleaning Supervisor.
Safety Compliance
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures for cleaning tasks.
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and appropriately.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to the Cleaning Supervisor.
Customer Service
- Respond to cleaning requests from staff, tenants, and management promptly and courteously.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while performing cleaning tasks.
Maintenance and Inspection
- Conduct routine inspections of assigned areas to ensure cleanliness and identify any maintenance needs.
- Report any maintenance issues, such as leaks or broken fixtures, to the Cleaning Supervisor.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a cleaning or a similar role is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent is desirable.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety protocols.
Competency and Skill Requirements
- Knowledge of laundry techniques and best practices.
- Ability to use laundry equipment and chemicals safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic communication skills.
Working conditions / Physical requirements
