Job purpose
Retail Stocker play a critical role in ensuring the store’s shelves are stocked, organized, and visually appealing, creating an optimal shopping experience for our customers. They work both independently and with a team, ensuring timely replenishment of products, accurate inventory counts, and maintaining a neat, clean store environment.
Duties and responsibilities

Product Stocking and Merchandising
- Replenish stock on shelves and racks to maintain adequate product levels and attractive displays.
- Organize shelves, racks, and bins by following merchandising guidelines and store layout plans.
- Assist in setting up promotional displays and seasonal changes as required by store management.
Inventory Management
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages or low-stock items to management.
- Conduct periodic inventory counts to maintain accurate records and ensure inventory control.
- Receive and unpack incoming stock shipments and check for damage or discrepancies against invoices or orders.
Store Organization and Cleanliness
- Ensure aisles, shelves, and work areas are clean, organized, and free of clutter.
- Regularly inspect displays and shelves for items that need rotation, such as perishable products, and remove expired items as necessary.
- Assist with general housekeeping tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and removing packaging waste.
Customer Assistance
- Greet customers courteously, offer assistance when needed, and provide general store or product information.
- Direct customers to specific products or departments as requested.
- Report customer inquiries or feedback to management for follow-up.
Safety and Compliance
- Follow all store policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
- Properly handle equipment (such as pallet jacks, carts, and ladders) and report any damaged or faulty equipment.
- Be aware of emergency procedures and store security protocols and act promptly if necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous retail or stocking experience is an asset but not required; on-the-job training provided.
- Basic knowledge of inventory and stocking processes.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding role, with the ability to lift, carry, and move stock as needed.

- Attention to Detail – Ensures shelves are well-stocked, organized, and meet store display standards.
- Time Management – Efficiently manages time to complete stocking tasks while maintaining product organization and display.
- Communication Skills – Communicates effectively with store management and team members about stock needs and other relevant information.
- Customer Service Orientation – Approaches customers courteously, providing assistance and enhancing their shopping experience.
- Physical Stamina – Comfortable with standing, walking, lifting (up to [specified weight, e.g., 50 lbs]), and bending throughout the shift.
- Problem Solving – Ability to resolve minor issues independently, such as reorganizing stock or assisting customers with basic questions.
Working conditions / Physical requirements
