Job purpose
Fast-food crew members play a vital role in providing a quick, efficient, and friendly experience for customers while maintaining the quality and cleanliness standards of the restaurant. Crew members are responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, preparing food items, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment, and supporting the restaurant’s day-to-day operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and enjoys interacting with people.
Duties and responsibilities

Customer Service
- Greet customers warmly, take their orders accurately, and answer any questions about the menu.
- Provide a quick, efficient, and friendly experience, ensuring customer satisfaction at all times.
- Process payments using the point-of-sale (POS) system and handle cash, debit, and credit transactions responsibly.
Food Preparation and Presentation
- Prepare food items according to restaurant standards and recipes, including cooking, assembling, and packaging menu items.
- Follow portion control, presentation guidelines, and quality standards to ensure a consistent dining experience.
- Maintain awareness of dietary needs and respond to requests (e.g., food allergies) accurately and responsibly.
Sanitation and Cleanliness
- Ensure all workstations, kitchen areas, and dining spaces are clean, organized, and stocked.
- Assist with regular cleaning and sanitization of equipment, utensils, and surfaces to meet health and safety standards.
- Follow all food safety regulations, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of food items.
Operational Support
- Help with opening and closing duties, including setup and breakdown of food stations, cleaning, and restocking supplies.
- Work as a team with other staff members to manage peak service times and assist each other as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate with management regarding low supplies or equipment needs.
Health and Safety Compliance
- Adhere to provincial and federal health and safety standards to provide a safe environment for customers and staff.
- Participate in training sessions and follow guidelines on food handling, sanitation, and personal safety.
- Be aware of emergency procedures and know how to respond in case of accidents, spills, or other incidents.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a fast food, quick-service, or customer service environment is an asset, but not required.
- Basic math skills and comfort with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a positive, customer-oriented attitude.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to [specific weight, e.g., 25 lbs], and handle the physical demands of a fast-paced environment.
- Availability for flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Food Handler’s Certificate or other relevant food safety certifications (preferred but not required).
